TV show thread (2022-?)

That was so bleak.

(Even by Black Mirror standards)

Sweet!

But so close to reality, when you think about the reliance of internet and computers.

Sure it was to bring someone back but it is actually what streaming services are doing now get you hooked then start charging more

Just finished watching it now myself, and I still feel a little uncomfortable.

Had all the elements of classic BM

  • Main characters who care deeply for one another who the audience could care about if not tangentially relate to
  • Pushed down a slippery slope of increasingly severe consequences driven by terribly unfortunate circumstances
  • Not-so-subtle political and social commentary based around contemporary technology or trends
  • Tragic and ambiguous ending.

Hopefully a sign of things to come. Comfortably better than anything in the last two seasons.

This is worth the watch on netflix.

Typical spycraft theme with the action sequences and political intrigue in the background. It is just done better than most purely because of good production values… despite Kidman’s aesthetics.

Good cast, realistic type plot there and script is pacy.

See What you think.

Has anyone tried The Pitt, an HBO hospital drama with Noah Wyle? I’m seeing good reviews.

Finally started Adolescence tonight. It’s incredible how they make the procedural stuff at a police station so gripping. Felt queasy and tense the whole first ep with tears welling up. And knowing it’s gonna get tougher.

Finished watching the third season of White Lotus. No where near as good as the first two.

Latest Black Mirror was a great season

Yeah, the slow build up didn’t pay off in most of the character’s stories. And some of their actions and reactions to things in the final episode seemed implausible.
