TV show thread (2022-?)

Yep, I love that his whole purpose on the show is to destroy the house and to get on the roof

incredible how rosie choosing to carry so many cushions made her stack avoid being ā€œhorrific accidentā€ and instead was ā€œtop tier slapstickā€

First episode of a new show called duster looks very fun.

Netflix has put out a pretty good three part documentary on the post-9-11 search for Bin Laden (American Manhunt). Bit of fig-jamming and machismo but they actually get some extraordinary talking heads to tell a pretty fascinating story.

Can someone help me.

I’ve never watched Parks and Recreation.

My favourite comedy of all time is Arrested Development followed by Veep, Seinfeld and the UK office.

Likely to be up my alley?

Parks & Rec has some very good and funny characters (Ron, Andy, April) but others who are extremely obnoxious (Tom, Jean-Ralphio) and/or not at all funny (Ann). I also found Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) grating after a while with her chipmunk-on-speed delivery.

Concur with OBITV, definitely worth a look, has some nice absurd story lines, reckon they tried to balance the wacky with a bit of sentimental, even a little drama at times to build the audience out, but good cast and probably more like Community early seasons than 30Rock or Arrested Development.

First season won’t grab you but it gets better. It’s probably most similar to American office with a female Michael Scott.

yeah, but not as much as the others

far less sociopathy as the others in your list. the sit part of sitcom for parks & rec comes more from earnest incompetence rather than malevolence

first season is mid af, so if the first couple of eps don’t grab you just skip to s2

Veep is outstanding.

It’s great, as is its British precursor

I think you’ll enjoy P&R. The first season (like in many shows) takes time to settle. The original love interest of Leslie is a wet fish and isn’t all that likable, the creators thought so too and wrote him out of the show by season 2. Things really pick up from there.

There’s a some great writing and characters, personally I think its a far superior show to the american office.

I recently started watching it and am still going, it’s my fall back show when I can’t be bothered scanning for a show to watch. I am really liking it. Love all the characters.
Another sitcom I just got through was Gavin and Stacey that’s really funny.

I’m a little late getting around to season 2 of Severence.

Half way through episode 4 and this season so far hasn’t grabbed me. Worth persisting with?

Yes, definitely, but if the ending of Ep4 doesn’t hook you then i don’t think you should persist. Ep4 is one of the best for the season.

Yeah, if you’re not into it by episode 4, the rest is probably gonna be a slog.

Was 15 minutes into ep4 when I made that post.

Then saw the rest of it.

I’m back.

It’s about time I watched that again, great show.

One show I have been rewatching is Coupling, best unwind with a drink crack-up, hadn’t tried it again since it first came on.

Love Charlie & Ewan
All of the Long Ways have been fabulous.
Am enjoying this one too.
Yes- Charlie had some pretty serious injuries to overcome.
