TV show thread (2022-?)

I hope it’s still got some steam, I found S3 a bit subdued after S2 was some all-time great TV.

Bad Thoughts on Netflix.

It’s rated R and for good reason, but I was struggling to breathe through the laughter.

Not for the faint hearted or easily offended.

Edit: ok, I was only an episode in. Be warned. It gets very graphic.

Now you’ve done it

Should or shouldn’t I?

It’s like you never know you unless you try - but it might scar me forever :joy:

It will very likely scar you.

Do it anyway!

It’s well filmed.
Humorous short stories but yes very dark. My favourite short was the coffee shop one.

His standup and podcast with his wife has always hinted at how dark his mind is. If I’m remembering correctly before comedy he worked on how to catch a predator or something similar and he was the one finding investigations. Also worked in Washington, first day was 9/11.

I feel like the Joe Rogan/comedian universe is about to flood tv and movies.

He was at one stage, a very, very funny stand up comedian.

Gosh he let success get to his head, though. He’s unbearable as a person now, and his stand up has gone to poo.

I haven’t watched the Netflix show though, just can’t bring myself to. Although the bits and pieces I’ve seen actually do look ok, so I’ll probably cave in at some point.

Yeah ever since the basketball accident I don’t have the time for him. Although some of his stories about his kids recently are hilarious.
But yeah I think this got renewed and he may have another show in the works.
Bert’s got a tv show coming.
Gillis has tires and getting movie deals

That has only failed 4-5 times now, but the next one is bound to catch fire.

Think I’m up to episode 4. There’s been some gold but looking forward to more eps.

American Primeval - a 6 part Western with copious graphic and horrendous violence.

If you ever caught an ep or 3 of 9 Out of 10 Cats… with the musical comedy act, The Horne Section is a show about them making their own chat show. One of those shows that makes understated, slightly absurd and apparently thrown together somehow work beautifully. Very much a comfort watch, good Brit humour and great band.

Maybe ep 3 or 4 the song about Grandpa and Grandma pea growers, ‘grading’ their peas is all kinds of stupid and genius. Middle aged manboys, but in a good way.

I’m a sometime watcher of Spelling Bee.
The subversion of what a game/quiz show is, is to be greatly applauded.
It’s amazing that it’s even on the air.
The ‘what the hell am I watching?’ factor is what works for me.
