TV show thread (2022-?)

It certainly is. A much darker storyline this time which is apparent right from the start.

I started watching Mystery Road - the TV Series from 2018 - when it first came out but only got 2 episodes into it and forgot all about it.

I just looked now and there’s a movie made n in 2013 and an origins series.

Which order is best to watch then all in - movie, 2018 series and then origin series - or start with origin series first?

I would start with the origin series first. Then the first movie(the one with Hugo weaving) . Then the 2 tv shows with Aaron Pedersen.

That was the first one I saw, which I loved. Then I saw that the jay swan character had already been in a previous film

New Alan Partridge on the way. The world needs this. Or I do, at least

Is Star Wars The Acolyte worth watching?

I watched it but wouldn’t recommend. It copped a lot of heat so I don’t think I’m in the minority saying that. From memory the first episode was as good as it gets.

Slow horses is very good

The new Monster/Ed Gein series on Netflix is hard to watch. Not one for the kiddies. But a couple of interesting sub plots re Hitchcock and Anthony Perkins.

EDIT: it gets more graphic with each episode. Be warned!

Slow Horses back of course .. S5 E1&2 out. So happy days. Although fair to say not so much a big bang of a plot, but def a slow burner warming nicely. Roddy the ā– ā– ā– ā–  and resident IT guru becomes centre stage (lol ..)

Might be the formula is running its course nowadays but the writers etc. keep coming up with the goods.

This is based on my favourite book in the series.

Can I just say, I don’t think any living thing could survive a Jackson Lamb special when he ā€œlets ripā€ upstairs in that Slough House office with windows closed.

Not a fly, a noisy mosquito, an unsuspecting pot plant or a poor baby elephant struggling to escape downstairs could survive those

Haha, yeah, the lack of replies is likely because many people didn’t bother watching it so can’t give an opinion :joy:

It brought back memories of my late brother after a night on the turps, followed by a succulent Chinese meal and a bowl of stewed plums.

You could carve up the air and sell it as rat poison. The enamel peeled off my teeth.

I was pretty dubious after watching the first episode but I pushed through to the series end and honestly what a steaming pile of pretentious exploitative trash.
