TV show thread (2022-?)

movie?

again, movie

Yes, second this.

Though I did find the series a little uneven - the longer (4 ep) stories were somewhat better than the shorter (2 ep) ones. Don’t know whether or not this relates back to the source material - haven’t read the books.

I think they just cast it really badly. Julia Morris just kills everything she’s in. The blonde girl (not sure of her name) is also not particularly engaging. Jimmy Rees and Nina Oyama were excellent choices though

I don’t think Danielle Walker is that bad - the highlight of the season so far is her attempt in the rose task. Julia Morris isn’t overly suited to this format. But agree re: Nina Oyama and Jimmy Rees (I was not expecting him to be as good as he has been).

Casting is where the AU taskmaster could really struggle. We do not have the depth of talent that the UK does. Granted, I’m a little sceptical about the casting for S15 (Frankie Boyle could be great or could be terrible to the point of making it hard to watch; I don’t think there is an inbetween).

just watched this! I quite enjoyed it… i found the clunkiness added to the dark humour element! great cast, and agree re the song

Australia’s problem is script writers.

A lot of Aussie series are well produced but over acted. Mr in between was the first in a long time I genuinely liked

He’s great . I’ll track that down. He was in a fabulous series called the virtues.

They made a TV show out of it? Doesn’t surprise me but stretching the material thin I would imagine.

This is a film. Not a TV series. Some people don’t know the difference these days it seems. One is episodic over many hours, one is a singular release.

There were a couple of comedy/sitcom series that were totally NSW based, which I found OTT in acting and not funny at all. But my Sydney friends raved about them.
On the other hand I’ve replayed the Moodys over and over and they don’t get it. Must have different tastes in sitcoms.

Have to agree . Sydney is very culturally different to the rest of Australia.

Do you mean in a bad way or a good way? She’s atrocious, poster girl for sharthouse oz comedians who took the devil’s handshake somewhere along the line. Lots competing for that poster though.

Daisy Jones and the Six is good, thought it was actually true and wondering why I can’t recall this band, up to episode 3 and looking forward to the rest, good insight to that 70’s style music

Just finished watching the first season of 24. That is up there as one of the best seasons of a tv show I have ever seen.I put that right up there with Lost season 1-3, the first season of Prison break and a few others.

Loved the real time aspect and the different camera shots always showing what different characters are up to at any given moment

Keifer Sutherland is awesome as the hero( until now I have only ever seen him play just awful human beings)

Elisha Cuthbert is absolutely gorgeous

Plenty of twists and turns, including one which blew my mind.

Absolutely fantastic show. Will start watching season 2 soon, hope it’s just as good
