The elites get a higher weighting in likes.
( To the non elites, that could be unpopular)

The algorithm promotes Elites.

I will always LIKE sooks about lack of LIKEs.

I thought it was average, most jokes felt flat or lazy.

But to each their own

(Hmmm…I wonder if this post will prove to be popular???)

This is a post on the back of the P Ryder appointment.

Maybe an ignorant question but why does the club need an Indigenous development player manager? Why do clubs treat players differently just because of their ethnicity?

Maybe because indigenous in Melbourne are about the smallest ethnic minority, there’s been a history of racism directed at indigenous players, some have endured racism in their lives that non indigenous have not.
Maybe because indigenous players haven’t lived the same lives as the non indigenous at the club, whether relocating to Melbourne or not.
Maybe some are relocating from remote communities with no extended family or network in Melbourne
Maybe clubs see value in dedicated indigenous development managers to mentor and guide them

Okay. But is assigning such roles further isolating these people? Highlighting that they are seemingly different?

why do we have a ruck coach? are we just further isolating rucks and highlighting that they are seemingly different?

How does it isolate them. It enables a player to inhabit a wider world, gives him/her the skills to adapt.
It’s not apartheid.

Not sure bigallan, but I would love to hear the players opinion on this.

Thanks for the dialogue.

I wouldn’t have thought so. They can still access everything that all of the other players can. They just have an extra person to guide them, who would be aware of the extra challenges that young indigenous players face when coming to the big league.

Wotabout the leadership group?
