Of course he knew

At the time, anyone with a brain knew it was all fabrication.

So…

Trump said he will appeal however I understand from several Twitter based lawyers that Trump has to put the money up, thats all $83.3m, before he can lodge an appeal.

He has one month to lodge an appeal.

Also, the financial penalties for Trump’s NY accounts fraud case are due to be decided at the end of this month.

I guess he must be under a bit of stress.

All the more reason for Nikki Haley to stay in the Republican race and play the long game - could Trump run out of cash

If Trump runs out of cash all he has to do is ask his followers for more.

Just to clarify for you and anyone else that doesn’t know, ASIO as an intelligence agency, is tasked to look at domestic information i.e. internal to Australia. The Agency you are thinking of is actually ASIS. They are the agency tasked with dealing with foreign intelligence.

ONA (at the time) would have had views too.

Quite possibly DSD (now known as ASD) as well.

Or, instead of relying on all these spying agencies they could have, you know, just looked at the news to find out that Iraq had NO “weapons of mass destruction”. The case made that Iraq did have WMD was fraudulent and farcical.

DIO as well. Would have been a number of agencies, but you’re right, ASIO wouldn’t have been the lead.

IIRC, it was reported in msm prior to Australia committing to it that Iraq had no WMD, after turning the place upside down and rifling through Saddam’s undies. There were protests here before the commitment - I went to one in Townsville where Peter Lindsay held office. Everyone taking any notice knew it was essentially BS. Howard did it anyway.

So how did the judge get to the 83 million dollar figure?

They didn’t. The jury did.

Back in 1971, I (and others) were detained bu the Federal Police for standing outside of the ASIO Melbourne secret Headquarters in Albert Road South Melbourne.

Always thought ASIO and Intelligence was oxymoronic.
