Former President Trump celebrated Sen. Mitt Romney’s (R-Utah) decision Wednesday not to seek another term, calling his frequent critic’s retirement “fantastic news” for Utah and the Republican Party.
“Mitt Romney, sometimes referred to as Pierre Delecto, will not be seeking a second term in the U.S. Senate, where he did not serve with distinction,” Trump wrote in all caps on Truth Social, referencing the pseudonym Romney used for a private Twitter account.
“A big primary fight against him was in the offing, but now that will not be necessary. Congrats to all. Make America great again!” Trump wrote.
Romney, who is 76, announced Wednesday he will retire from the Senate at the end of his term in 2024.
“I have spent my last 25 years in public service of one kind or another. At the end of another term, I’d be in my mid-eighties,” Romney said in a press release. “Frankly, it’s time for a new generation of leaders. They’re the ones that need to make the decisions that will shape the world they will be living in.”
The text of this bill she “introduced” into congress this year tells you all you need to know about her values:
“An AR–15 style rifle chambered in a .223 Remington round or a 5.56x45mm NATO round is hereby declared to be the National Gun of the United States.”
The bolded quote above is the entire text of H.R. 1095, a bill introduced in Congress on Feb. 17 and cosponsored by our congresswoman, Lauren Boebert. One of her co-sponsors on the bill is none other than George Santos, the congressman who faked virtually every aspect of his life. Is this a cruel joke?
Jenna Ellis on her evangelical radio show says she loves her friend Trump but he can’t admit he’s wrong, presumably about that thing that she was also all in on and is facing charges on. Damascus meet Jenna.
Look, I disliked him the first and only 5 minutes of the apprentice I saw, but maybe he might have a certain charisma that just happens to infect about 50M people in the USA, but he is one of the few people that actually says what they think, appalling as that is. Jenna Ellis is quite young and fell for it no doubt. The number of older legally trained males in particular who fell for his BS do surprise me.
I don’t think any of them are ‘falling for it’, they’re connecting in ways they see may advantage them more privately and in business than going against him or refusing service to him. What I was suggesting is Ellis is just doing what rats do and using a gifted role on a large religious radio program to start feathering her legal/moral nest come the inevitable storm. Also, she’ll be just fine for $ now so quite likely, barring a stay in jail, she’ll come out ahead for her involvement. Yay USA, yay capitalism!
