And it didn’t actually go to the Soros Foundation itself, but to progams set up under the Soros Foundation.
Just like here, when Turnbull was PM, he gave some funding to Open Society Australia. The Soros Foundation sponsored Open Society systems around the world.

As BA says, the US AID site is down I’m not sure how it can be verified. Nobody can say 100%. That might explain all, some or none of the US$250m. I’m sure we will find out.
Maybe someone can share the link to the $250m being sent to Soros Foundation. If posters are saying that as fact it should be easy to show.

A simple Google of USAID Soros Foundation provides some facts by USAID on packages it gave to other organisations developing projects covered by the Foundation.
Elon’s team has taken down the site, but neglected to erase some USAID media releases.

Trump and musks first thought when funds go to a charity is that it’s being ripped off and not legit.
IT MUST BE!! Because that’s what they do.
Trump was forced to pay $2M fine for using a charity for his own political gain.
Musk has donated BILLIONS to charity to avoid paying BILLIONS in tax. Oh, the it’s also his own charity, and some of the funds go to supporting a school. His kids go to that school.
They have no concept of how many people are happy to chip in or support people with less.

The Open Society site provides information on the Soros Foundation , including some interactions with USAID.
Soros started Open Society in Hungary. Under Orban, he’s persona non grata.
In a few instances, the Foundation has been critical of AUSAID, including government mandated restrictions on health assistance to prostitutes.

According to the US Congressional Research Service, Ukraine is the largest beneficiary of USAID.
Since February 2022, Congress has appropriated $46 billion to USAID
in emergency funds for Ukraine . The aid covers direct financial support, humanitarian assistance, assistance to agriculture and energy.
No surprise that Russia is cheering on Musk’s smearing of USAID.
