Welcome to the Club - Daniel McPherson

Never heard of this bloke but I reckon I can find a way to be outraged at the decision.

If JHF thinks he is a cancer, then I am completely sold on McPherson.

He’d have double celebrations on his birthday if he’s a Collingwood supporter.

If he barracks for us, hopefully he just respects the day for what it really is, which has little to do with footy.

Which is how the club likes to treat it.

So JHF, a player who didn’t invest in the club and refused to adhere to the professional standards calls the Development Manager a cancer. I’m wondering if there was some sour grapes there?

I don’t know, ask the person who said it.

Should fit right in with a club that hasn’t won a final in 18 seasons.

I think I’m with a few Essendon fans that is curious how all these managers and heads will all synergise or complement each other. Do other clubs have people in all these roles too?

I’m looking forward to being able to do a best 22 for our coaching and development staff

Could have sworn the club has got coaches from leading teams in the last 5 years - Rutten, Caracella, Giansirucasa etc - Continue making up stories.

Who cares about social media which is full of misinformed opinions! Social media does not determine whether the staff can do their job.

Isn’t that what I said?

I agree that social media isn’t the best indicator but just being hired by the awful execs at EFC is a red flag.

I’m pretty cynical about both appointments. A guy Josh had already worked with closely and another guy already there who Josh had worked with closely. Nice safe picks for Josh. Feels an awful lot like Josh suring up his own position and making appointments in areas he knows we’re poor in but didn’t want to be accountable for fixing himself. He’s hired known quantities who are unlikely to make him look bad but he’ll take all the credit in the event that they make him look good

It’s fresh wood now that may quickly become dead wood.

I don’t know if he’s evil or not but this stinks of upper middle management creating and appointing additional middle managers to say yes to him, cover his ā– ā– ā– ā–  and insulate him from complaints/criticism

I think it’s perform or walk for Josh. Someone had to take the reins given the ā– ā– ā– ā–  show we are. He’s the least evil given he’s only had a year with us and was at the premiership team the year prior.

However if we do anything wrong next year he’s going to be under immense pressure.

yeah seems a bit odd. comes from melbourne goes to north in the midst of their ā– ā– ā– ā–  show recent period and somehow walks into the club and becomes the biggest cancer in what less than 12 months ? really the place that’s had a coach quit after a year cos trying to run the joint mentally broke him, noble being sacked a year and a half into his tenure so they could chase clarko and the ā– ā– ā– ā–  show that that has brought, and many other issues they’ve had.

but this guy mcpherson was the biggest cancer at the joint, that’s actually somewhat impressive tbh.

And cancer at north, well considering that could mean he came from a culture of being brutally honest to a culture that didn’t like that (ironically scott could face a similar fate if our lovey dovey players don’t like his hard nosed edge) and they didn’t like him telling them home truths or didn’t like him sugar coating it, or holding peoples hands.

tis not to say i don’t believe he was a problem at north, just there’s no context as to the reasons why (unless they come out later in this thread as i only got to this post which is 5 hours old ha)
