Who Should We Draft?

I’m hoping we draft a couple of under weight hbfers with moderate pace, not to flashy with question marks on their disposal

Yep ... fits the mold nicely.

Welcome to BB Mr. Dodoro.

#19 - Corey Ellis from the Western Jets. High risk, high reward player. When he is on he is ******* on.
......

At #49 I like the look of Jesse Watchman from West Adelaide.

I watch a lot of SANFL and Jesse has shown enough for me to think he could develop into a very solid ruck/tall forward. With Ryder leaving we may need to start looking at future partners for Bellchambers and Watchman could develop into that.

Thanks for the write up, really interesting.
By the way, as someone who watches SANFL would you rate Watchman or Baulderstone higher?

I would say it depends on if you want a project player or one that can step straight in. Baulderstone is currently that far ahead of Watchman it isnt funny but he is several years older so should be. Watchman will end up a good footballer in a few years times

The writeup came from another site (can't take credit) but i highlighted the parts I felt were what we are looking for.

Baulderstone is more 'game-ready' to be sure.

Watchman will take some time but has more natural talent, is more agile and likely to get bigger as he is still growing.

Watchman won't be ready for AFL for another 3-4 years I think which I why he will slip to the bottom of the draft.

AFL website reporting we are interested in Jeff Garlett and Tim Membrey.

They have a flick through here most years.

I don’t care who we draft so long as that ■■■■ Paul Connors doesn’t manage them.

Would like to get someone like Garlett.

Definately has the ability.

Otherwise, Lachie Weller is who we should be targeting in the draft. Will be a gun.

Get the Ryder trade right and we can have Goddard, Weller and Cockatoo

Reach for the top shelf Mervyn.

Pete Bampton's the one.

Pete Bampton's the one.

a lot of mocks have us taking him at 19.

But if we get 16 & 19 then we might get someone else. still not sure if ports pick is low enough to get goddard.

would prefer if they traded someone to get a pick lower than 16. then traded it to us.

Massive NO to Tom Lamb.

Has major attitude issues amongst other serious issues.

Are you still involved at a TAC setup rodent?

Get the feeling he had a few people overexcited through some very high-end testing and a good highlights tape at the start of the year.  Commentators on the u18 champs games couldn't talk him up enough, and he did bugger-all.

Pretty happy to leave him on the shelf even before rodent's info.

Wouldn't take Goddard personally.
I'd be targeting:
Weller
Pickett
Garlett
With our first pick before 19 (if none are there then just go best available) and then Bampton after that.
Realistically we need a pick before Gold Coast though as they will definately take Weller if he is still available at their pick.

Reports of Lamb's baaaaaa-d attitude leads me to believe that we will cut(let) him from our list of possible targets.

argh... another pun thread... you're not pulling the wool over my eyes!
