The best ever!! Man did i have some good times becoming one with that machine.
So you can still remember the holodeck pattern off by heart?
Wow…your are testing me now!!!
The tunnel was 2xleft 2xright 2xleft and i forget after that.
I did rule the delta quadrant though. Left ramp was in the zone all day
Hahahha. I wrote it and then second guessed my self, as I couldn’t remember if the first turn was R or L
RRLLRRLLRRLLRLRLR
Or something like that…
Was a fantastic game. I was better for the centre scoop shot than the ramp…
NNNNEEEEERRRRRDDDDDSSSS!!!
or LLRRLLRRLLRLRLR
who knows
One of my favourite places to stay, when visiting the best city of Australia. Unhappily due to covid the last year has been the only one in my life that the pleasure of going to Melbourne has been denied me.
For bonus points: for anyone who has not been there, their toilets have the best view in Melbourne.
Edit: as I see, the very knowledgable @SMJ has already observed.
No. The “Collins Towers” were built after Whelan the wrecker demolished the very elegant buildings in what was described as the “Paris End” of Collins St. The construction was in the '70s. AFAIK the Sofitel has been there since at least the '80s. The Snydey Sofitel is in the Wentworth though I think they are moving it.
Another great one is (or was) at Y&J.I have not been for decades, but you used to be able to look out on the great unwashed going to Flinders St station.
Spoke to one of the co-owners recently, they aren’t far off.
Speaking of the scray, talk about gentrification over the last 5 to 10 years!
Yes. The hotel was originally named the Wentworth. This is from Wikipedia:
“ The construction of Collins Place took far longer than anticipated due to the credit squeeze of the 1970s, the collapse of Mainline, and strike action by construction unions. It opened in two stages, the first being the ANZ Bank’s office tower in 1978.[4] The hotel, named The Wentworth, and the shopping plaza, dubbed ‘the Great Space’, opened on the 18th May 1981, to great fanfare and a 7-page advertising spread in The Age.”
It didn’t go directly from being the Wentworth to the Sofitel either. There was at least one other name in between, but I can’t remember it right now.
To be fair I’d be surprised if those toilets, as desecrated as they were, ever had anyone relieve themselves in their. More likely catching a whiff of your usernamesake.
That’s true, though as I worked there for a time the ladies loos were by far the worst, absolutely mingin some of the stuff that went on, not to mention the leaks/floods!
As to the u/n more a nod to certain triple j presenter duo from the 90s, no shortage of the other stuff at pony though!
It was like that before it was even pony. I remember going there before Goo on Thursdays in the late 90’s. I vaguely recall it being called crank.
I think it was The Regency.
Pretty sure it was The Regent. There was Rockman’s Regency which is now the Marriott in Exhibition Street.
Spent many hours in that upstairs bar. You could see the clocks at Flinders St Station so I could perfectly time my walk to get the train. No wasted drinking time.
Also I remember they gave away free peanuted salt. Calling them salted peanuts would have failed the Trade Descriptions Act!
Does projectile vomiting count?
Asking for a friend.
Mate of mine took a dump at Pony once. He is still alive.
When did Goo start? Spent a lot of time there from 2004 ish until it finished (2005? 06?)
