I just went and had a look around at AFL Fantasy and it seems it won’t be any good for us unless we used the first 8 picks to get us back to 20 or something.

Based on the advice from last year that shouldn’t be an issue:
- Keeper Leagues – leagues are granted the ability to keep a certain number of players from year to year. After the commissioner regenerates the Keeper League, teams will select which players they intend to keep from their previous year’s roster. The commissioner will select the number of players that teams can keep, which can vary year to year. The number of Keepers can range from 1 to the entire size of the team list. Commissioners will need to set their league as a Keeper League and users will be able to select Keepers from the 2024 season.

So we’ve got 6 or 7 weeks til the season starts and we need to decide a platform, trade, trim our squads, and draft.

Just had a 10 minute chat with GPT… link above.
Doesnt seem to be any obvious apps. If we had an excel wizard chatgpt can help write most of the vba code and has provided a template - all beyond my skill set

Not quite a month until the first game of the season. I’d be good with that.
@redbull will post dates etc at some stage but we also have the uncertainty of which platform we are going to use but i will open a draft discussion thread where coaches can lists their needs/wants and feel free to start discussing offers.

I assume we will be retaining AFL Fantasy positions?
More than likely but it might be worth waiting for clarification before you agree to any trade.

Yeah, the positions - and confirmed ground layout - are critical to trade discussions and list setup.
Just a quick update
Positions will be based off those used in AFL fantasy
At this stage we will be using AFL Fantasy to manage the comp unless an alternate option is found in the next few weeks. The key change this will require is that the Utility position will not be possible. Therefore we will have to change our position structure.
As for where the utility position goes this will largely be position dependent based on number of players allocated each role. I will pull some data over the weekend to help with this.
Also we are still looking for a replacement coach for @wezza who has retired from BBFFL#2.
