Onya Dois
A true warrior that gave his best. Has done the right thing by the club.
do you reckon he will replace Cox and play his final game?
For a time, he was one of the Coolest dudes running around.
An absolute icon with those Dreads.
But all good things come to an end eventually.
You achieved much more than many.
Congratulations for playing an important role in our club’s history.
Woohoo!
I don’t think Heppell needs a farewell game.
Thanks for your services though.
Thank you for your services Dys
I certainly hope he does get a farewell game.
Is he the last of the 34 (playing for us)?
yes, only Jake Melksham still playing
Should have let the Dyson Heppell thread end with Dyson’s retirement. What a missed opportunity.
I dont think so C_H, i think we need to have a generation of playing group that wasn’t involved with players who were banned, so we’re probably 5-10 more years away
The right call was made. Was fearful he was going to go on a season too long and our lasting memory would be as such.
Well done Dys. Enjoy retirement.
As predicted, Heppells farewell game will be against Sydney this week.
Good on ya Dys
I remember what an exciting prospect he appeared to be in his first season. He adjusted to AFL footy so easily.
There was genuine excitement in those early years.
A great player, a great warrior, a great person and a great ambassador for the club during the most trying of times.
Certainly he deserves more respect than I think people realise. Deserved more than a career where he failed to play in a winning final.
He has made the right choice and he finishes while he is still able to play to a good standard.
Was a very good player in the first half of his career. Endured the saga with dignity and helped those around him cope with the implications they were branded drug cheats. His positive attitude to life was what many of those players needed at the time.
He’s made the right decision and wish him all the best in years to come.
His relationship with Harrison is the best of this club.
Go well Dyson. Thanks for giving your heart and soul to this club.
If he plays a farewell game that takes him to 253, the same number of games that James Hird played for the club.
